

Andrew Sippel assumed a new role as vice president of marketing for ESPN The Magazine and ESPN.com in January 2002. Prior to this he was named vice president and publisher in February 2000 after serving as The Magazine's original director of marketing. He played a key role in formulating its position as the premier magazine for young, active sports fans and built innovative platforms that allowed the sales staff to reach its record-breaking advertising goals.
Before joining ESPN The Magazine in June 1997, Sippel was the marketing director of Field & Stream and Outdoor Life magazines, overseeing the marketing team's promotional, research and special events activities. Additionally, he launched Field & Stream into multimedia platforms, integrating their print, television, radio and online efforts.
From May 1990 to June 1994, Sippel was a senior marketing manager for American Express Travel Related Services where he launched and marketed several of the company's products and services. He started his career in 1986 as a media planner for McCaffrey & McCall.
Sippel is a 1990 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business, earning a master's degree in business administration; he also holds a bachelor of arts degree in government from Wesleyan University. |
