ESPN.COM SETS RECORD FOR UNIQUE USERS IN OCTOBER

ESPN.com, the leading sports site, has again generated record traffic with a leading 15.4 million unique users, along with a 21% market share of usage, in October, according to the latest Media Metrix figures. The previous record mark of 13.4 million unique users was set in March.

Also according to Media Metrix, NFL Internet Group generated 13.2 million unique users, while the SportsLine.com sites generated 9 million and AOL Sports had 7.4 million.

ESPN.com also led the sports category in October with more than 2.4 million average daily unique visitors and 663 million total usage minutes.
