Brandon Rush apparently is considering spending a year in preparation for the NBA draft at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.

A source close to the situation said Rush, a high school senior from Mt. Zion Christian Academy (N.C.), would make up his mind next week. Rush withdrew from the NBA draft last week after it was determined he would likely be a second-round pick.

A source close to his recruitment process told that becoming eligible could be an issue for Rush, and that's why it's unlikely he's headed to Oklahoma, Illinois or Missouri, his three college finalists. Rush could be blazing a trail for players who elect to work out at IMG Academy instead of going to a prep school, junior college or NAIA school for a year before entering the draft.
