Now the right thing to do might be for the NCAA to step in and break the silence -- and the impasse -- by allowing Duquesne to give Mensah a scholarship.

In June, Siena's second-leading scorer decided he was through with the Saints after two seasons and wanted out, angering Siena. At first, the talk was about going to a higher-profile school to improve his chances of playing in the NBA. There were legal threats, and plenty of New York-area and some national coverage (here and on to name a few).
