KU's Giles may be done

C.J. Giles' career at Kansas is perilously close to being over after numerous academic and behavoral issues got him suspended from the team Tuesday, according to a source close to the situation.

The source said that Kansas coach Bill Self said it's going to be tough for Giles to recover from this and make it back on the team, but the window isn't completely closed.

When ESPN.com was at Kansas Saturday afternoon, Self hinted that Giles was having trouble with school. And Self said the Jayhawks anticipated that this would be Giles' last season in Lawrence if "he did what he was supposed to do." That meant playing at a high level, since the 6-foot-11 center is considered a first-round NBA prospect. The Jayhawks were recruiting with the intent that Giles would be gone, since they weren't certain he could be eligible for his senior season.
