Bill Grier faced the toughest decision of his life: stay at Gonzaga or forge ahead on his own as a head coach.

Why did he finally leave the comfort of Spokane and head to San Diego, a rival WCC school?

"I just felt that Mark is a perfect fit at Gonzaga, and although he can never say never, I just don't see him leaving," Grier said of his best friend Mark Few, whose father officiated Grier's wedding. "I reached a point that if I'm ever going to be a head coach, I have to leave."
