ATLANTA -- Michigan is expected to seek out West Virginia's John Beilein this weekend in Atlanta after the Mountaineers finish with the NIT final Thursday night in New York.

Multiple sources tell ESPN.com that the Wolverines' plan was to unofficially interview three or four candidates (possibly Beilein, Xavier's Sean Miller and Southern Illinois' Chris Lowery) and then choose one to give the formal interview. The focus is on Beilein. The problem is that the buyout in his contract, a dollar for dollar buyout of his remaining deal that is at $2.5 million, isn't going away.
