Westbrook thrived off the bench

Quick hitters for Friday: • UCLA coach Ben Howland made a important bench move by sliding Russell Westbrook out of the starting lineup to have at least one scoring guard coming off the bench in light of Michael Roll's injury (torn tendon in his foot). According to the staff, Westbrook didn't mind one bit coming off the bench. He played 35 minutes, scored 15 points and had six assists and no turnovers for the Bruins in their 76-67 win over Stanford in Palo Alto, Calif., on Thursday night.
