Power Rankings: Jan. 5

Normally, a team loses and it gets dropped. It's the nature of week-to-week rankings.

A couple of wins, you move up; one loss, you move down. But not this week. Not after Oklahoma and Kansas played an epic, three-overtime Big 12 thriller on Monday night. Sure, the win launched Kansas into the top spot in our rankings.

But what to do with Oklahoma? A week ago, the Sooners were No. 2. Normally, a loss would drop them. But one thing was clear: Monday's loss to Kansas wasn't your normal loss. So Oklahoma stays.
