Larry Shyatt fighting viral illness

Wyoming coach Larry Shyatt will miss his second straight game due to a viral illness and won't be with the team at New Mexico on Wednesday night.

Shyatt said in a text message Tuesday that he hopes to be back soon but has to get rid of the virus.

Shyatt couldn't coach the game against Utah State last Saturday, a 74-57 victory in Laramie.

Assistant coach Scott Duncan said he is hopeful Shyatt can return to the bench for Saturday's game at UNLV.

"He still has it but not enough energy," Duncan said.

The Cowboys enter the New Mexico game with a 14-7 record, 5-3 in the Mountain West.
