Kennedy confirmed to ESPN.com that he has talked with SEC coordinator of officials Jake Bell and said he is "confident that the matter will be handled responsibly."
Texas A&M led 49-47 when the ball was inbounded to Jamal Jones in front of Vanderbilt's bench with nine seconds remaining. Jones was trapped by Vanderbilt's Dai-Jon Parker and James Siakam -- and the Commodores wound up getting a jump ball.
Kennedy said he could not see the play from more than 94 feet away to call a timeout. However, Texas A&M sophomore Alex Caruso was seen trying to call timeout just inside the foul line on the replay.
One of Kennedy's primary concerns is the setup of the court at Vanderbilt, in which both benches are under the basket.
Kentucky coach John Calipari was asked about the configuration during Monday's SEC teleconference.
"It's the only arena in the country like that," Calipari said. "The easy solution is make it like it's played on a raised court like Minnesota or the Final Four. Then coaches can get a stool if they choose to."
