Despite reports he was headed to the NBA, West Virginia guard Juwan Staten is returning to school.

Staten's father, Billy, told ESPN.com that Staten, who averaged 18.1 points, 5.8 assists and 5.6 rebounds, will come back to Morgantown for his senior campaign.

"He's going back to school," he said. "I'm not sure what was written, but he's going back to West Virginia."

Staten began his career at Dayton and transferred to West Virginia after his freshman season. He averaged 7.6 points as a sophomore, but had a breakout campaign this past season.

The Mountaineers finished 17-16 overall and 9-9 in Big 12 play, but will lose their second-leading scorer, Eron Harris, who will transfer.
