Coach says LSU's Ben Simmons playing with finger injury

LSU forward Ben Simmons is playing with a finger injury on his shooting hand, coach Johnny Jones said Thursday.

"It happened a couple of games ago," Jones said during his press availability. He later said he didn't know if the injury happened late against South Carolina a week ago or against Texas A&M on Saturday.

Simmons had 20 points and 10 rebounds on Wednesday night as LSU (16-10, 9-4) lost 76-69 to Alabama. He played 38 minutes.

Simmons also had two steals, but turned the ball over three times and missed nine of 19 free throws.

Jones did not indicate which finger was injured or whether it affected his shooting, but the injury is not believed to be serious. Simmons did not attend press availability on Thursday.
