Richard Solomon out at least 2 games
Cal sophomore forward Richard Solomon has suffered a left foot injury that will force him to miss at least two games, coach Mike Montgomery announced Monday.
Due to what is believed to be a stress fracture or stress reaction in the foot, the Bears are expected to be without their top rebounder and shot blocker against UC Santa Barbara on Monday and at UNLV (No. 23 ESPN/USA Today, No. 21 AP) on Friday in advance of the Pac-12 opener later this month.
"We hope to have him back on the court, after Christmas, in time for the start of the Pac-12 season," Montgomery said in a statement.
The 6-foot-10 Solomon, who averages 6.6 points and 6.9 rebounds, had returned to action last week and reclaimed his spot in the starting lineup Friday after serving a two-game suspension for conduct contrary to university and athletic department values.
