Clemson's Milton Jennings suspended

CLEMSON, S.C. -- Clemson forward Milton Jennings has been suspended by coach Brad Brownell for academic reasons.

Brownell announced the indefinite suspension Monday night. Jennings did not travel with the Tigers (11-9, 3-3 ACC), who play Tuesday night at Virginia (No. 18 ESPN/USA Today, No. 16 AP). The Cavaliers are 17-3, 4-2.

Brownell said he suspended Jennings for failure to comply with the team's academic standards.

Jennings also was suspended for the team's loss to Hawaii at the Diamond Head Classic after he yelled at Brownell the previous game. Jennings apologized for his outburst and returned to the lineup.

Jennings is a 6-foot-9 junior who has started 15 games this season, averaging 8.9 points and 5.4 rebounds, both career highs.

He is fourth in team scoring and second behind Devin Booker in rebounds.
