Georgia Tech suspends Glen Rice Jr.
ATLANTA -- Georgia Tech basketball coach Brian Gregory has suspended guard Glen Rice Jr. indefinitely.
Athletic department spokesman Mike Stamus says the 21-year-old junior was suspended Friday but declined to give a reason for the suspension. That means Rice won't be joining his fellow Yellow Jackets as they take on Virginia Tech Saturday in Blacksburg, Va.
The 6-foot-5 Rice had scored in double figures in each of the last three games since he missed the Florida State game Feb. 1 with turf toe. He averages 10.4 points per game and eight rebounds per game. Tech's website says Rice ranks 14th in the ACC in scoring and 11th in rebounding.
Rice's father became the all-time leading scorer at Michigan and went on to play 15 years in the NBA.
