Calvin Godfrey headed to LSU
BATON ROUGE, La. -- Former Iowa State forward Calvin Godfrey is headed to LSU, the third player signed by new Tigers coach Johnny Jones.
The 6-foot-8, 230-pound Godfrey, whose transfer was approved Monday, will have two years' eligibility left after spending last season at Howard College in Texas, where he averaged 12.6 points and 7 rebounds.
Godfrey played only his freshman season at Iowa State in 2010-11 before being dismissed from the team following an arrest for marijuana possession. Godfrey had also been suspended earlier that season for three Big 12 games for violating unspecified team policies.
He averaged 5.7 points and 5.4 rebounds for the Cyclones as a freshman.
Jones' first two signees were Shavon Coleman, who also played at Howard, and Shane Hammink, son of former LSU player Geert Hammink.
