Danny Manning adds Kauri Black
TULSA, Okla. -- New Tulsa coach Danny Manning has added his second recruit in as many days.
Manning announced Wednesday that forward Kauri Black signed scholarship papers with Tulsa and will transfer from Northeastern. The 6-foot-7 Black averaged 4.6 points and 3.2 rebounds last season while starting 33 games for the Huskies.
Black will be a graduate student and will be able to play next season, his last year of college eligibility.
Manning says Black should provide the Golden Hurricane with leadership and bridge the gap between recruiting classes.
On Tuesday, Manning announced the signing of high school point guard Rashad Ray from New Orleans. Ray was first-team all-state in Louisiana as a senior last season after averaging 18.5 points, seven assists and three steals per game.
