BEAUMONT, Texas -- Lamar coach Pat Knight has hired former Indiana teammate Sherron Wilkerson as an assistant.
Wilkerson was an assistant at Indiana University Southeast during the 2010-2011 season and a former standout for the Hoosiers. Indiana coach Bob Knight in 1994 head-butted Wilkerson while yelling at him on the bench, but Knight later said the highly publicized incident was unintentional.
Pat Knight made the announcement Tuesday. Wilkerson replaces Kenton Paulino, who left Lamar for a job at Fresno State.
