NORMAL, Ill. -- Daishon Knight has been reinstated to the Illinois State Redbirds after pleading guilty Thursday to punching a woman and resisting arrest.

The Pantagraph newspaper in Bloomington reports that Knight pleaded guilty Thursday to misdemeanor battery and resisting arrest in an Aug. 25 incident.

Knight, a junior from Baltimore, was sentenced to 24 months conditional discharge and 100 hours community service.

Coach Dan Muller said Thursday that Knight had done everything he'd been asked while suspended, was back on the team and will be able to play in Friday's opener at Virginia Commonwealth.
