Been a good year so far for Tubby Smith, and tonight's outcome won't change that. He has 11 wins in early January. Texas Tech won 14 and 13 games, respectively, in 2014 and 2015. He has a win over Texas and former employer Minnesota. In the late stages of his career, he's still rebuilding programs. This Texas Tech team is ranked 26th in adjusted defensive efficiency per Ken Pomeroy. If this holds, it would be the first time that the Red Raiders finished among the top 30 in defense since 2004.
