Sources: New Mexico St. to hire Weir as coach

Assistant coach Paul Weir, who spent nine seasons with former coach Marvin Menzies, will be hired by New Mexico State to replace Menzies, sources told ESPN.

UNLV hires Menzies to replace departed Beard

UNLV has agreed to a deal with Marvin Menzies to become the Rebels' new coach, replacing Chris Beard who jumped to Texas Tech after three weeks on the job.

As speculation mounted during Friday that former Sacramento Kings coach George Karl could be a candidate at UNLV, a source told ESPN that Karl is still mulling over whether he wants to return to coaching so soon after a difficult tenure with the Kings as well as dealing with a nagging knee injury. Meanwhile, a New Mexico State source told ESPN that the school expects its head coach Marvin Menzies to take the UNLV job if a deal can be worked out.

Job hopper: Beard leaves UNLV for Texas Tech

New Mexico State beats Seattle 70-57

Braxton Huggins had 19 of his 22 points in the second half, Pascal Siakam added 15 points and 18 rebounds and New Mexico State beat Seattle 70-57 on Saturday night.
