Sabonis scintillating on the court

The Gonzaga big man has been sensational. He doesn't do the athletic things at an elite level, but have fun finding someone in the draft that can match his basketball IQ. Ford's mock draft 5.0 (Insider)

Collins is key to Gonzaga's rebuild

Kyle Wiltjer is gone and Domantas Sabonis is expected to go pro. Zach Collins (No. 37 overall, ESPN 100) will play in Wednesday's McDonald's All-American Game (9 p.m. ET on ESPN). Who to watch (Insider)

Gonzaga goes cold

Outscored 15-3 in the game's final 6:28, the Bulldogs were punchless down the stretch. They did not score a field goal in the game's final 6:28 or any points at all in the last 1:54. Gonzaga is 2-5 all-time in the Sweet 16.

Syracuse advances to Elite Eight

An out of bounds call on Syracuse's Trevor Cooney gave Gonzaga another opportunity to score with 11.2 seconds left. Tyler Lydon blocked Josh Perkins and was fouled. The freshman hit two crunch time free throws and the Orange won 63-60 to advance to the Elite Eight. Final stats

At least that phantom out-of-bounds call didn't decide this Syracuse-Gonzaga game.

Syracuse takes lead in final minute

The Bulldogs led Syracuse by 9 points with over six minutes left, but the Orange clawed back and has a 61-60 lead thanks to a Michael Gbinije lay-in with 22 seconds left. Follow live

Domantas Sabonis to Syracuse: "I must break you."

Gonzaga guard Josh Perkins came through on three straight crucial trips there for the Zags, including two nifty passes to Domantas Sabonis and a big 3 from the wing, which padded out a seven point lead and forced Jom Boeheim to take a timeout. He was rewarded for his efforts with a hearty pat on the head by Sabonis.

At first, Kyle Wiltjer's hot start -- which included several deep 3s -- made it look like Gonzaga was going to bury Syracuse early, a la the Zags' round of 32 win over Utah. Wiltjer finished the half 6-of-8 from the field. The bad news: His teammates were 6-of-20. Thus the Bulldogs scored just 29 points in 33 possessions and allowed Syracuse to cut the lead to one point just before halftime.

Gonzaga up by one at halftime

What's the best way to beat the Syracuse zone? Shoot well from the outside. Gonzaga's Kyle Wiltjer contributed 15 points in the first half and went 3-for-3 from beyond the 3-point arc, while Damantas Sabonis grabbed 11 boards. Follow live

The Syracuse defensive effort improved dramatically after a wobbly start against Gonzaga. Even though the Orange are shooting just 31 percent, they're down only one point at halftime. Too many turnovers (10) for Gonzaga.
