Notre Dame's Rex Pflueger on his reaction to the game-winner: "After I made it, just running back -- I was kind of scared because [Zach Auguste] was so happy, he wasn't focusing on the defensive play. I was like, 'Bro! There's 1.5 seconds, get ready.' Also said it's his first game-winner since the summer before his senior year of high school. This one was a little bit bigger.

Late tip gives Notre Dame win over SF Austin

Rex Pflueger with the game-winning tip-in with 1.5 seconds left to give Notre Dame the win. Unbelievable game. Tremendous run by Thomas Walkup and Stephen F. Austin.

Stephen F. Austin leads by 3 points with under 2 minutes remaining and the Lumberjacks' win probability has rocketed to 84%. Live updates

Stephen F. Austin leading Notre Dame late

A Demetrious Floyd 3-pointer put the Lumberjacks up with less than 4 minutes left, and got 14-seed SFA even closer to its second straight stunner. Follow live

We've got a ballgame in Brooklyn. Notre Dame and Stephen F. Austin knotted at 64 with 6:58 left. Not surprisingly, Thomas Walkup has made a huge difference for SFA since coming back in the game with three fouls -- and Notre Dame has been a bit more turnover-prone and careless with the ball in the second half.

Eamonn Brennan ESPN Staff Writer

Notre Dame had just three turnovers in the first half against Stephen F. Austin; the Irish already have four in the first six of the second. That's still a remarkable performance by Mike Brey's team against the most turnover-obsessed defense in the country, but if some attrition happens down the stretch this game remains very much in SFA's reach.

SFA hanging around despite star's absence

The 14th-seeded Lumberjacks are within 3 points of Notre Dame midway through the second half despite Thomas Walkup sitting out the last few minutes with 3 fouls. Follow live

Stephen F. Austin star Thomas Walkup now has three fouls -- and there's still 15:35 left in the game, down five to Notre Dame. He's the Lumberjacks' heart and soul. Most of the offense runs through him and he essentially put them on his back against West Virginia late in the game. Will be something to watch for Brad Underwood.

V.J. Beachem buries a 3 to give Notre Dame a one-point halftime lead on Stephen F. Austin. Offense has been the big story, with Notre Dame shooting 56 percent and SFA shooting 52 percent. Against Michigan on Friday, Notre Dame turned up the defense after halftime; the Irish will need to do the same today. On the flip side, Stephen F. Austin will look to force more turnovers and take Notre Dame out of rhythm.

Notre Dame surges to first-half lead

Upset-minded 14-seed Stephen F. Austin led for a good chunk of the first half, but a late Fighting Irish push put them in front 42-41. The Lumberjacks, who force opponents into 18.7 turnovers per game, have forced only 4 today. Box score
