Damon Stoudamire to coach Pacific
The Memphis assistant coach has taken the head-coaching job at Pacific, he announced Wednesday on The Players Tribune. Stoudamire played in the NBA for four franchises in 13 seasons before switching to the coaching side.

Pacific has offered its head coaching job to Memphis assistant coach Damon Stoudamire, according to ESPN's Jeff Goodman and Jeff Borzello. Stoudamire, who is likely to accept the job, played in the NBA for four franchises over 13 seasons.
Pacific coach Ron Verlin and assistant Dwight Young are no longer employed by the school after being suspended in December stemming from an NCAA inquiry into allegations of academic misconduct.

Both Verlin and Young were placed on suspension in December amid an investigation into allegations of academic misconduct. So to update postseason bans now: SMU can't play in the AAC tourney; Missouri can't play in the SEC tourney; Pacific can't play in the WCC tourney; Northridge can't play in the Big West tourney. That means a 10-team AAC tourney and a 13-team SEC tourney; 9-team WCC tourney; 8-team Big West tourney. Alcorn State, Florida A&M, Stetson and Central Arkansas were already ineligible for the postseason based on poor APR scores.
