James Ramsey on Louisville's postseason ban

Louisville president James Ramsey announces the choice to impose a one-year postseason ban on the school's men's basketball team and what led to the decision.

C.L. Brown ESPN Staff Writer

One other note to consider with Louisville self-imposing a postseason ban, is that U of L president James Ramsey's decision could be, in part, to appease his critics. That includes faculty and some on the board of trustees who have lost confidence in his leadership due to how he's handled a number of events including the possible misuse of federal funds by university administrators.

Why did Louisville impose ban this year? (2:39)

C.L. Brown ESPN Staff Writer

One thing I'm not sure I heard from the presser is how much did Louisville consider other forms of punishment. future scholarship limits? reducing recruiting visits/coaches on the road? Imposing postseason ban this year hints that confirmed info from investigation might be worse than originally thought.

My thought on Louisville situation is that innocent kids ala Damion Lee /Trey Lewis get penalized 4 things they had zero to do with # UNFAIR
