The Cards are outscoring opponents by 28.2 points per 100 possessions, the highest efficiency differential rate in the nation. So, did Jay Bilas rank Louisville in the top 15? You bet. Bilas Index: 1-68 (Insider)

Putting a damper on No. 1,000

Rick Pitino reached quadruple digits in games coached Monday night. What could have been a fun celebration in a season that's turned sour was not. The Cardinals just couldn't get it done, falling 72-65 to the Duke Blue Devils.

Who will take Louisville's tourney spot?

Six ACC teams still have work to do. Fortunately for them, an extra bid is available after Louisville's self-imposed ban. Duke and Notre Dame have jumped ahead of the pack. Bubble Watch

Opening statement from Louisville's Rick Pitino after the Cardinals 72-65 loss to Duke:

I saw Brandon Ingram at the Champions Classic in Chicago. Against Kentucky, he wasn't aggressive. So timid. Amazing how far he's come with his assertiveness. He's so intentional when he has the ball and he fights for loose balls in ways he did not a few months ago. His talent with a little attitude is scary.

Ray Ganong, Louisville's Strength & Conditioning Coach, is an intense guy. (1:45)

Myron Medcalf ESPN Staff Writer

Can't imagine what these Louisville players have been through over the last 72 hours or so. But they're not playing like a team that's given up on the season. Fighting for everything right now on the road. Says a lot about who they are and the leadership of Damion Lee and Trey Lewis.

Myron Medcalf ESPN Staff Writer

This is the Duke team we've only watched sporadically. They're playing good defense. Crashing the glass. And Grayson Allen is attacking. If the Blue Devils can sustain this - and that's the issue - and maintain this rhythm in the final chapter, they'll be a tough matchup for any team they see.
