Keep this in mind: There is no guarantee NCAA accepts Louisville ban as enough so school could have sacrificed this team for no reason. The notice of allegations likely won't come until summer or later and the committee on infractions hearing may not be until end of 2016. That means ruling could be in 2017 and penalties could be for 2017-18 season.

Louisville tops Boston College amid self-imposed ban (1:07)

I asked the COI about this during the SMU penalty teleconference and didn't get a direct answer. If there has to be a postseason ban then the NCAA/schools should ban a head coach for postseason not team. I don't believe in the bans but if they are going to use it then single out the staff not the players who weren't involved.
