4 minor league pitchers suspended
NEW YORK -- Four pitching prospects in the Dominican Summer League have been suspended for positive tests under baseball's minor league drug program.
New York Yankees left-hander Carlos Diaz, New York Mets right-hander Nicolas Debora, Chicago Cubs left-hander Andin Diaz and Kansas City Royals right-hander Jose Geraldo all tested positive for metabolites of Stanozolol, the commissioner's office said Wednesday. Major League Baseball said Geraldo also tested positive for metabolites of Nandrolone.
There have been 63 suspensions this year under the minor league program and three under the major league plan; Giants pitcher Guillermo Mota, Phillies infielder Freddy Galvis and free agent outfielder Marlon Byrd.
