CINCINNATI (Ticker) -- Michel Picard and Ed Patterson each scored a pair of goals to power the Grand Rapids Griffins to a 5-2 victory over the Cincinnati Cyclones, clinching first place in the East Division. Picard, who also had an assist, opened the scoring for Grand Rapids at 4:28 of the first period and Patterson followed two minutes later to extend the Griffins' lead to 2-0. Slava Butsayev added a goal and an assist for Grand Rapids, which has 109 points on the season. Mike Fountain made 28 saves for the Griffins, who have won 11 of their last 13 games. Brian Felsner had a pair of tallies for the Cyclones, who despite the loss, have wrapped up third place in the East Division with 94 points. Randy Petruk turned away 34 shots for Cincinnati.
