GAME UPDATE | BOX SCORE | GAME LOG

SAN FRANCISCO (Ticker) -- Tonight's game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants was suspended due to rain in the bottom of the sixth inning with the Dodgers leading 3-2.

It will be resumed on Thursday at 8:05 p.m. EDT. The regularly scheduled game will start at 10:35 p.m. or 30 minutes after the completion of the first game.

Los Angeles went ahead in the top of the sixth inning against San Francisco starter Joe Nathan. Shawn Green led off with a double to deep center and after Eric Karros was hit by a pitch, Todd Hundley walked to load the bases. Adrian Beltre followed with a sacrifice fly to right-center.

But Nathan pitched out of the jam by striking out Kevin Elster and getting pitcher Darren Dreifort to pop up to second. Nathan allowed three runs and four hits in six innings, striking out five and walking five.

Dreifort pitched effectively through five innings, giving up just two runs -- one earned -- and two hits while striking out one and walking one.

Los Angeles loaded the bases in the second inning on Green's single and walks to Hundley and Karros before Beltre grounded into a double play to score Green. The Dodgers doubled the lead in the third on Green's sacrifice fly and Karros nearly made it 5-0, but Giants outfielder Barry Bonds reached over the left-field wall to rob him of a home run.

San Francisco halved the deficit in the bottom of the third on Rich Aurilia's second homer of the season and tied it an inning later when Karros' fielding error allowed Bill Mueller to score.
