BALTIMORE (AP) _ Delino DeShields singled home the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning as the Baltimore Orioles handed the Texas Rangers their seventh straight defeat, 11-10 Wednesday night.

The Orioles blew a 5-0 lead built on Albert Belle's 12th career grand slam, then rallied from a 10-6 deficit with a four-run eighth.

Texas' losing streak is its longest since a seven-game skid in June 1997.

The see-saw game lasted 3 hours, 37 minutes.

Cal Ripken led off the ninth with a single against Tim Crabtree (1-3). After John Wetteland replaced Crabtree and Brady Anderson ran for Ripken, Will Clark flied out and Charles Johnson walked.

DeShields then lined a single to right, and Anderson easily scored.

Mike Timlin (2-1) pitched a perfect ninth for the Orioles, who won their fourth straight.

Baltimore tied the game in the eighth when Rich Amaral hit a two-run single off Mike Venafro before B.J. Surhoff hit a two-run, two-out single off Crabtree.

Surhoff also homered.

Ivan Rodriguez hit his 22nd homer and also had two doubles in a seven-run fourth inning that gave Texas a 7-5 lead. David Segui hit a three-run homer in the fourth, the second time in five games that Baltimore yielded seven runs in an inning.

Belle's first grand slam since 1997 gave the Orioles a 4-0 lead before Texas starter Kenny Rogers recorded an out. But Rogers settled down and was in position to win his third straight decision before the Rangers' bullpen collapsed.

The game was played in a driving mist that made fielding difficult and caused many in the announced crowd of 39,231 to leave well before the conclusion.

Down 5-0, the Rangers sent 12 men to the plate in the fourth inning. Rodriguez doubled and Rafael Palmeiro walked before Segui hit his eighth homer on a 3-2 count. After Texas loaded the bases with one out, Jason Johnson replaced Pat Rapp and yielded an RBI single to Luis Alicea, a sacrifice fly to Rusty Greer and a two-run double to Rodriguez.

Rodriguez made it 8-5 in the seventh, driving the second pitch from Luis Mercedes over the wall in center. Surhoff hit a solo homer in the Orioles' half.

Texas used sacrifice flies by Frank Catalanotto and Greer to go up 10-6 in the eighth.

Notes: Alicea left in the fourth inning with discomfort in his groin and Segui left in the seventh after fouling a ball off his foot. Both are listed day-to-day ... Belle's homer was his 11th, the fifth in his last 11 games. ... Surhoff batted third for the first time since May 27. His homer was his 100th with Baltimore.
