Red Sox third base prospect Rafael Devers hits his 4th HR in 8 games in front of White Sox scouts tonight...can't be a bad thing for trade talks

The Indians have a legitimate chance of getting back to the World Series with the leagues best starting pitching. With a strong farm system their can be no excuses if they don't land Jonathan Lucroy and Will Smith at the trade deadline. These windows to win don't come often. Just my opinion.

Craig Kimbrel faced three hitters, recorded one out and threw 17 pitches today in a minor-league rehab appearance for Triple-A Pawtucket. Red Sox manager John Farrell expects to speak with Kimbrel later this evening. It's still possible Kimbrel could rejoin the Sox next week in Seattle. He had surgery July 11 to repair a meniscus tear in his left knee.

Braves and Padres complete Kemp for Olivera deal pending medicals/physicals . confirmed

Jim Bowden ESPN Senior Writer

Here is our Saturday night trade monitoring: Jonathan Lucroy of Brewers...will he get traded to Indians or Mets? If Indians will he waive no-trade clause? Rays starter which one is moving? And where? Rangers? Astros? Cubs? Jay Bruce going to Dodgers, Giants or Mets? And of course the White Sox watch.....less than 45 hours remain

David Schoenfield ESPN Senior Writer

The Padres and Braves are reportedly close to a deal of bad contracts, Matt Kemp for Hector Olivera. Kemp is on pace for 36 home runs and 100-plus RBIs, but has been barely above replacement-level value due to bad defense and a poor OBP. But at least the Braves dump Olivera, who has been on the suspended list for domestic violence. The Padres may just cut him.

The Braves and Padres close to trade that will send Matt Kemp to Braves and Hector Olivera to Padres but not yet done not yet pending medicals but will be soon

Yasiel Puig is expected to be in the Dodgers' lineup Sunday. Puig has been on the bench with a hamstring injury since last Thursday at Washington.

The Mets made no headway in their pursuit of Jonathan Lucroy today, and signs are pointing increasingly toward Cleveland as the destination for the veteran catcher. Lucroy has to sign off on a deal to the Indians because they're one of eight teams on his no-trade list. But Cleveland needs a catcher, and Lucroy would provide a major upgrade.

The Cubs' Kris Bryant talks about his failed attempted steal at home in he seventh. After initially being called safe when he darted for the plate during a pick-off play at first, the call was overturned by replay.

Orioles' approach to trading for pitching is vintage Dan Duquette. Always patient. Waiting for value. Can choose from half-dozen options Monday

Jim Bowden ESPN Senior Writer

As I reported earlier today there is traction on a trade that will send Matt Kemp and cash to the Braves but nothing done

Jim Bowden ESPN Senior Writer

Cleveland Indians and New York Mets continue to be engaged with the Milwaukee Brewers on catcher Jonathan Lucroy with the Indians also trying to get Will Smith in a deal. Source tells me he will get traded but it may get complicated before they can pull trigger. Could be because of his limited no-trade clause to Indians
