The Cardinals have designated for assignment ex-Mets infielder Ruben Tejada. He would have to accept an assignment to Triple-A Memphis. Tejada was hitting only .176 (6-for-34) with St. Louis. Rookie shortstop Aledmys Diaz is hitting .327 with seven homers and 25 RBIs for the Cardinals.
