Barajas has $2.5M deal with Phillies pending exam

Veteran catcher Rod Barajas has reached agreement on a one-year contract with the Philadelphia Phillies pending a physical exam.

The deal is worth $2.5 million. The Philadelphia Inquirer reported that the contract includes an option for a second year.

Barajas, 31, is a .240 career hitter with 58 home runs in six seasons with Arizona and Texas. His best year came in 2005, when he hit 21 homers and drove in 60 runs for the Rangers.
