Jed Lowrie out after spraining ankle

SAN FRANCISCO -- Houston Astros shortstop Jed Lowrie left Saturday's game against San Francisco with a sprained right ankle after apparently getting spiked.

Lowrie was injured while trying to take a short throw from second baseman Jose Altuve in the third inning. Altuve had made a backhanded stop on Melky Cabrera's single up the middle.
