Three minor leaguers suspended
NEW YORK -- Three minor leaguers have been suspended for 50 games apiece under baseball's minor league drug program.
Deshun Dixon, an outfielder in the Tampa Bay organization, and free-agent right-hander Vincent Payne Jr. were each penalized for a second violation for a drug of abuse. Dixon, who plays for Class-A Hudson Valley, will begin his suspension immediately while Payne's penalty begins when he signs with a major league organization.
