Kevin Slowey to start vs. Braves

ST. LOUIS -- Kevin Slowey will take Ricky Nolasco's spot in the Miami Marlins rotation Monday against the Braves, a day after the pitcher was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Manager Mike Redmond said the team anticipated the trade and kept Slowey available. The right-hander is 3-6 with a 4.24 ERA and last worked in relief on July 2. He's made 13 starts, the last on June 12.

"As of right now, we'll plan on this start Monday," Redmond said. "And then we'll figure it out there."
