WASHINGTON -- Barry Bonds was recognized by the House of Representatives Tuesday for setting a new home run record this season. The San Francisco Giants star capped the season this month by hitting his 73rd homer in a game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. He has surpassed the 70 homers Mark McGwire hit in 1998. "For those of us who go to the Giants games, we can only say just think what he would have done if they had pitched to him," said Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif. Pelosi represents the San Francisco area. The House passed the resolution honoring Bonds by a voice vote. |
