LOS ANGELES -- Barry Bonds made it four homers in two games Wednesday night, hitting a pair of mammoth blasts into the right-field pavilion at Dodger Stadium.

Bonds became the second player to hit two homers in each of his team's first two games, joining Hall of Famer Eddie Mathews, who accomplished the feat in 1958.

Bonds hit a three-run homer off Hideo Nomo in the first inning and a solo shot off Terry Mulholland in the fourth, triggering a six-run rally that gave the San Francisco Giants a 10-0 lead over the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Tsuyoshi Shinjo walked and Rich Aurilia singled before Bonds hit a 1-2 pitch from Nomo an estimated 443 feet. Bonds drove a 1-0 pitch from Mulholland an estimated 459 feet in the fourth.

Bonds, who hit a record 73 homers last year, entered the game with only four hits in 25 at-bats against Nomo with one homer and one RBI. Nomo walked him intentionally in his second at-bat.

The homers lifted Bonds' career total to 571, leaving him two behind Harmon Killebrew for sixth on the career list.

Bonds hit a three-run homer, a solo shot and an RBI single Tuesday as the Giants opened the season with a 9-2 victory over the Dodgers.
