BALTIMORE -- Florida Marlins first baseman Derrek Lee visited
Camden Yards this week, but it appears as if he won't be playing
there this summer.

Lee and his agent met with Baltimore Orioles officials
yesterday, but the sides failed to work out a contract extension.

To reduce payroll after winning the World Series this year, the
Marlins are trying to move Lee, who batted .271 with 31 doubles,
31 homers, 92 RBIs and a .508 slugging percentage.

worked out a tentative trade conditioned on a contract extension.

Lee earned $4.25 million this season and could receive up to $7 million in salary
