Rockies' Cook hurt, leaves in fourth

DENVER -- Colorado right-hander Aaron Cook was removed from the game against San Francisco in the fourth inning Friday night with a sore right shoulder and replaced by right-hander Josh Fogg.

Cook, who has been bothered by a sprained big toe on his right foot that may have been the culprit in a mechanical flaw he discovered in his delivery, left after walking Nate Schierholtz on four pitches to start the fourth.

Fogg gave up a three-run homer to Aaron Rowand that gave the Giants a 6-1 lead after his first batter, Travis Ishikawa, reached on second baseman Ian Stewart's fielding error.

Cook labored through a 47-pitch outing, allowing four earned runs and three hits and four walks in three-plus innings. In his previous start, at Florida on Sunday, he allowed a season-high seven runs and eight hits in just 2 1-3 innings.
