Rockies' Hawpe hurts quad

DENVER -- Rockies outfielder Brad Hawpe left the opening game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Florida Marlins because of tightness in his left quad.

Ryan Spilborghs came on for Hawpe in the top of the fifth inning.

Hawpe apparently aggravated the injury while running out a groundout in the bottom of the fourth inning.

Hawpe has been bothered by the quad for some time. He was limited to pinch hitting in the final two games of a series against the New York Mets earlier this month.
