X-rays negative for Toronto's Escobar

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Shortstop Yunel Escobar was scratched from the Toronto Blue Jays lineup Tuesday at Kansas City with a bruised right hand.

Escobar's hand was struck by pitch from Kyle Farnsworth in the 10th inning Monday while attempting to bunt.

X-rays were negative Tuesday, revealing no fracture. Escobar was hitting .471 with two homers in four games with Toronto since being acquired in a July 14 trade with Atlanta.

John McDonald replaced Escobar in the lineup.
