Huston Street misses series opener

NEW YORK -- Colorado Rockies closer Huston Street is missing the opener of a series at the New York Mets to be with his wife after the birth of their first child.

Street's wife, Lacey, gave birth to Ripken Ray on Monday night in Denver. The Rockies said Tuesday that the closer will likely be back with the team Wednesday.

The 27-year-old Street missed the first 69 games this season with right shoulder inflammation. He has seven saves. Manuel Corpas had 10 saves in his absence.
