Friday's scheduled meeting among baseball management, umpires and players to address the relationship between the sides has been canceled, because of a death in the family for one of the participants.
The meeting, which was to be held in the Orlando, Fla., area, will be rescheduled, according to sources. The sides remain committed to holding the meeting in the future.
In the past, commissioner Bud Selig has opposed expanding instant replay. But he's willing to let his special committee, which meets next week, consider changes.
"There are opinions everywhere on that," he said after the November owners meeting. "Managers have opinions, general managers have opinions, owners have opinions. I want to hear them all and look at them."
