The Mick was only 16 days shy of his 20th birthday when he played in the 1951 World Series. He started the first two games, playing right field next to Joe DiMaggio, but in Game 2, he wrenched his knee chasing a fly ball off the bat of Willie Mays and missed the rest of the series. Nevertheless, Mantle appeared in 11 more Fall Classics during his Hall of Fame career.
