He is under control of the White Sox through the 2016 season, so he will look to put a rough 4-14 season behind him next year.","date":"Fri Sep 20"},"fullName":"John Danks","seasonOutlook":{"outlook":"Shoulder problems ruined Danks' 2012, eventually resulting in August surgery to repair a capsule tear and remove debris in his rotator cuff and biceps. While that at least explains last year's dip in velocity (his fastball averaged 1.4 mph slower than it did in 2011) and diminished command (he struck out only 1.30 batters per walk) it also puts his immediate future in question. The White Sox say that Danks has hit all rehabilitation goals as the spring dawned, but his spring training will rank among the most critical to watch of any pitcher. After all, he had spent most of his career previously as a skills-better-than-results type, most notably his K's-per-walk ratio taking a sizable step forward in both 2010 and 2011. A healthy Danks has the capability of getting right back on the mixed-league radar, but he needs to prove he's that before he can be drafted as anything close to that.","seasonId":2013,"date":"Thu Feb 21"},"playerRater30DAY":-3.9,"playerRater15DAY":-1.4,"positionRank":150}
