Apart from a seven-K, zero-run season debut, Stults has been fairly ordinary this season. His one highlight is that he has only surrendered four walks over 27 innings.","date":"Sat Apr 27"},"fullName":"Eric Stults","seasonOutlook":{"outlook":"Based on last season's success, Stults is slated to have a spot in the Padres' Opening Day rotation, but buyer beware, his 2012 campaign was not nearly as rosy as the surface stats indicate. His K/9 was a pedestrian 5.0, though his 2.5 BB/9 was better than league average. According to advanced metrics, his 2.91 ERA should have been at least a run higher, if not more. Stults was buoyed by a .264 BABIP and 6.5 HR/FB percent, which is low even with pitching in Petco Park for the bulk of the season. That said, he still will have Petco at his back around half the time, so in deeper leagues, he is an option to use in the most favorable matchups, just don't expect many punchouts.","seasonId":2013,"date":"Thu Feb 21"},"playerRater30DAY":0.1,"playerRater15DAY":-2.4,"positionRank":106}

Stults Goes Deeper At Chavez Ravine
From Elias: Eric Stults hit a three-run homer for the Padres at Dodger Stadium on Monday night. Stults is the sixth visiting pitcher to hit a home run with at least two runners on base in a game at Dodger Stadium. The others to do it were Juan Marichal in 1971, Steve Carlton in 1984 (grand Slam), Calvin Schiraldi in 1989, Dennis Cook in 1990 and Ross Ohlendorf in 2011.
