Five players to stop dreaming on

Setting expectations is one thing. Meeting them is another. For first-round picks and even players who experience some success very early in their careers, those expectations can get out of hand, especially with teams that have experienced little success themselves.

Cano Slams Hochevar For The Second Time
From Elias: Robinson Cano entered Sunday's game with one home run and four RBI this season, but he doubled those totals with a third-inning grand slam off Kansas City's Luke Hochevar that sparked the Yankees to a 10-4 triumph at Kansas City. Cano, who also hit a slam off Hochevar at Yankee Stadium on September 28, 2009, is the only active major-leaguer with two career bases-loaded homers against one current big-league pitcher.

Hochevar And Butler Put An End To Royals' Losing Streak
From Elias: Luke Hochevar topped the Indians to snap the Royals' 12-game losing streak. Hochevar is 5-2 over his last eight starts that immediately followed a Kansas City loss. Billy Butler became the second player in major-league history to hit more than one home run in a victory that ended a team's losing streak of 12 or more games. The only other player to do that was Hall of Famer Jimmie Foxx, who belted two homers for the Philadelphia Athletics on September 12, 1935 (in the first game of a doubleheader) to help snap their 13-game losing streak.

Indians Quickly Stifle Enthusiasm In K.c.
From Elias: The Indians scored seven runs in the top of the first inning of the Royals' home opener, the most runs scored by a visiting team before a home-opening team came to the plate in the last 25 years of major-league play. Cleveland went on to win, 8-3. Back in 1987, the Rangers scored eight first-inning runs in the Brewers' home opener. It probably came as no surprise to Kansas City starter Luke Hochevar that Shin-Soo Choo knocked in the first of Cleveland's seven opening-inning runs. Choo went 2-for-2 with a walk against Hochevar on Friday, lifting his career batting average against the Royals right-hander to .600 (based on 15 hits in 25 at-bats). Among active opponents, only two other major-leaguers possess a .600-or-better batting average against a particular pitcher (minimum: 25 at-bats): the Rockies' Jason Giambi has a .622 average (23 for 37) against the Blue Jays' Darren Oliver, and the Giants' Melky Cabrera tops the chart with a .630 mark (17 for 27) against Mark Buehrle, who is now with the Marlins.
