In the 98 seasons that the Cubs have played at Wrigley Field, only six other opposing players went 5-for-5 or better and hit two or more homers in the same game there. The only other active player to have done so was Albert Pujols in 2004 (5-for-5, 3 HR).

Carlos Gonzalez banged out three hits and scored two runs in the Rockies' 11-3 win over the Mets in frigid Denver. It was the fourth consecutive game in which Gonzalez registered at least two hits and two runs scored. He's the third player in Rockies history with a streak of four straight multi-hit, multi-run games, joining Ellis Burks (1996) and Larry Walker (2001) in that exclusive club. Over the last two seasons the only other major-league player with a four-game streak of that kind is Mike Trout (June 8-11, 2012).

From Elias: Carlos Gonzalez went 2-for-5 and scored a pair of runs, just as he did in the Rockies' season opener, as Colorado posted an 8-4 win at Milwaukee. Gonzalez, who also homered in both games, became only the third Rockies player with at least two hits and two runs in each of the team's first two games of a season. Mike Kingery did it in 1995 and Clint Barmes in 2005.
