Despite being a fastball-slider pitcher, Hanrahan decreased his OPS against left-handed hitters by 222 points (.750 in 2010, .528 in 2011), showing how valuable his gains in the command department. Whether he'll be able to sustain it is open to debate, but it's difficult to bet against a closer who generates ground balls more than 50 percent of the time, averages nearly four strikeouts per walk and has no discernible platoon split.
